BIDDING and SHIPPING
We are going to hold an eBay type auction: You may start after midnight 1/31/12 (EDT)
(via BID FORM ONLY - please DO NOT email bids or CALL).
BIDS ENTERED via ANY MEANS other than the BID FORM will NOT be accepted
eBay is automated - DickBay isn't !!! This is how the bidding process will work:
We show the starting (minimum) bid for each set. Bids will be accepted in the order they are received and I will do my best to keep the information updated.
BIDDING IS IN EVEN DOLLAR AMOUNTS ONLY
BIDS INCREMENT BY $ 1.00
Let's assume you are the first to bid on a set. The minimum bid is $ 4.00. If you bid $ 4.00 you will 'win' the bid if NO ONE else bids on it. If someone else then bids $ 7.00 on the set the current high bid will then become $ 5.00 ( $ 1.00 more than your bid) and you will be out of the running unless you place another bid. If you then place another bid of $ 6.00 you will still be out of the running because the person before you bid $ 6.00 before you did (they bid $ 7.00 which covers the $ 6.00) but you cannot see their actual bid.
| BIDDER | BID | CURRENT HIGH BID | CURRENT HIGH BIDDER |
| YOU | $ 4.00 | $ 4.00 | YOU |
| BIDDER #2 | $ 7.00 | $ 5.00 | BIDDER #2 |
| YOU | $ 6.00 | $ 6.00 | Temporarily YOU |
| AUTO BID for BIDDER #2 | $ 7.00 | BIDDER #2 | |
| BIDDER #3 | $ 10.00 | $ 8.00 | BIDDER #3 |
We are doing this to give more people a fighting chance. My advise is to determine the max you are willing to pay for an item and bid that amount early. If you bid $ 20.00 on a $ 2.00 item and no one else bids you get it for $ 2.00 - If someone else bids $ 3.00 on it you get it for $ 4.00 (assuming no more bids are placed on that item.
This sounds a bit confusing but for you eBay bidders out there you know what is going on. We also want this to be fun.
NOTE: You may see (for example) that the current high bid on an item is $ 8.00 and that is how much you bid but your account number is not shown as the current high bidder. This is because someone bid $ 8.00 before you did. Remember, da oily boid gets da woim
ONE WORD OF CAUTION... Since the high bid information is not automated the info you see cannot be guaranteed to be accurate (up to the minute - I do sleep sometimes). PLEASE do not wait until the last minute to bid (as many do on eBay) or you may be disappointed!
SNIPING: Waiting until the last minute to place a bid
As some of you eBay'ers may be aware - many people wait until the last moment to place a bid and this makes you 'maddernell'. You may not know it but there is a "bidding service" called eSnipe (www.esnipe.com). They charge a fee for their service. This is how it works: You tell eSnipe the "MAXIMUM" you are willing to bid on an eBay item and also tell them WHEN to place the bid for you. Example $ 50.00 maximum and place the bid 8 seconds before the auction ends. Let's assume that the auction price (current high bid) is at $ 13.50 -- at 8 seconds before the auction ends eSnipe places a bid for you - they bid only what it takes to make you the high bidder - in this case $ 14.00 or (up to your $ 50.00 maximum - in cases where someone else is using eSnipe and has their bid placed at 10 seconds before the auction ends). The only way you will then be outbid is if someone manually places a bid in the last 8 seconds OR someone else used eSnipe too with a maximum higher than your $ 50.00 maximum.
NOTE: You cannot use eSnipe on my auctions but you can use DickieSnipe by bidding your "maximum" early. This means I will place bids for you - in $ 1.00 increments (up to your Maximum Bid) until you are the high bidder. However, I will NOT wait until the end of the auction. I will place your bids as necessary to make you high bidder whenever someone places a bid that is higher than your 'Current High Bid' (not the same thing as your Maximum Bid). If it takes more than your Maximum Bid for you to become the high bidder you are then 'out of the running'. You can place another bid if you want. You can bid as often and as much as you want.
If two or more people enter equal Maximum High Bids then the one who places their bid first would be considered the high bidder.
In the email I sent you, you will see your account number - please use this number when placing your bid(s)
I want this to be fun for you and also fair for everyone. Please let me know if you need more clarification: I may call you rather than using email - if I have your phone number.
If you don't understand the bidding process please re-read these instructions - at least once.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is how an item will look after it has at least one bid. I will show the high bidder's account number and the current high bid. The stamps show are Stampin' Up unless indicated differently in the description. Many of the auctions are for more than one set.
